WHO ARE WE?
The Bakery Art Gallery offers a new way for artists and audiences to connect. Started in a 19th-century bakery on Notting Hill's Portobello Road, with the aim of creating a welcoming and approachable space for contemporary art.
Now with a second location in Camden Passage, the gallery continues to provide a friendly environment where artists can share their work directly with the public. Across both spaces, visitors can discover a wide range of contemporary practices and perspectives.
The gallery consists of member artists who present a rolling exhibition of current work, curated by the artists themselves. Alongside this programme, the gallery hosts a series of week-long solo exhibitions and small group shows by visiting artists throughout the year.
The gallery is always staffed by one of the artists, creating opportunities for genuine conversations. By encouraging direct engagement, it helps audiences discover and connect with new artists working today.
