Three different approaches, one unifying topic, our place in time andspace.Energy in the form of Kingdons captivating abstract colour field screen prints and evocative figurative scenesto Hill Loureiro’s life drawing inspired collages, rich in colour and rooted in deep observation, Spainhovers between reality and imagination setting the viewer up for aninternal journey into their own stories.

Annabel Hill loureiro

Annabel Hill Loureiro graduated from Central Saint Martins with a 1st class BA (hons) in illustration. After havinga family, the artist returned to drawing and painting. Her work is very much influenced by her love of drawing;however, she feels mainly at ease working from figures and faces, this is no doubt influenced by her time in filmand theatre.Recently Annabel has created pieces using hand painted Japanese rice paper as collage material, it allows her touse block colour and occasionally a minimal ink line to really simplified the form of the figure. The work isproduced from her life drawings with the aim to break away from a literal and traditional representation of thefigure or portrait.

nathalie kingdon

Nathalie Kingdon is a London based French artist specialising in screen-printing. Her work has evolved around the theme of summer inspired by the South of France where she comes from, while most of it conveys a feeling of nostalgia related to the seventies aesthetic of her childhood. Her approach is both intuitive and playful and is reflected in her creative process: images collected from diverse sources of inspiration, such as French cinemaand television series or found photographic archives of the 60s and 70s related to pop culture, are carefully combined with geometric patterns and pixelated forms. The artist is most interested in the new narratives that eventually emerge from this process within the frame of the print. She has developed both abstract and figurative body of work.

vincent spain

Vincent Spain is a painter based in London. BA (Hons) Ceramics at Camberwell College of Arts 1996-1999 wasthe culmination of various art-based studies to include, Central St Martins, London Institute 1993 and The City Lit,Fleet Street 1994-1995.The work as the name suggests is just that, experiments, jousting with paint, stumbling on ideas, happy accidents, flow state mind, allowing myself to be guided by the marks, intuitively responding, sharp corners of low visibilityuntil the task is scrutinised from a weary chair, with looking equally important as painting.Rarely does an initial idea manifest itself unadulterated on the substrate. Inspiration comes from encounters withpeople, either candidly observing or in the midst of it all, in the right light or moment anything can be a painting orat least the catalyst for one.
