the bakery art gallery presents

the cat show: the artists mews

The Bakery Gallery is proud to present The Cat Show: The Artist’s Mews. This group exhibition brings together a profusion of artists for a collective celebration of the domestic cat (Felis Catus) - as a muse, as a companion and friend, as a symbol of independence, resilience, and quiet authority. Cats appear here not only as subjects, but as a presence, observing and inhabiting our physical and imaginative space on their own terms.

“Little by little they put themselves together, making themselves a landscape, acquiring spots, grace, flight” Pablo Neruda, Ode to the Cat

From realistic to abstract, reflective to humorous, this exhibition is a showcase of all things cat and cat adjacent. Curated by a jury of cat-owned artists from work by invited artists and open call submissions, this homage to our feline friends presents a diverse range of media including, but not limited to: drawing, painting, textile, photography, ceramics, collage, and mixed media.

We will be collecting donations in support of Cats Protection throughout the exhibition.
