Founded by Meryl Yankelson, Lower Slopes presents emerging and established contemporary artists with a
focus on personal narratives and the human experience. Following the completion of renovations, the gallery
will officially open the doors to its permanent home at 84 Highgate High Street, N6, later this autumn.

Serving as both an introduction and an invitation, With Each Lookbrings together twelve exhibiting artists. The
exhibition acts as a statement of intent for Lower Slopes’ future programme, offering a direct proposition to
the viewer: look again for a deeper encounter.

While impactful at first glance, the works on display do not reveal themselves fully. They reward further
attention: a closer look or a shift in perspective. As visitors move through the exhibition space, their gaze is
intentionally unsettled. At times, the viewer assumes the role of voyeur while the subjects remain distracted or
turned away; at others, the dynamic flips, creating the sensation of being watched by the artwork itself.

SELECTED ARTISTS
SARAH JANE HENDER A contemporary artist whose featured work, Moons Apart – Oslo, serves as the lead visual
identity for the With Each Look exhibition flyer.
STELLE CONSTANTINOU A contemporary artist with a dedicated following on TikTok, working across painting,
poetry, and sound to record her own ‘becoming’ through a deeply personal narrative. Her piece, Pluto’s Storm, is
a tribute to the late Storm Thorgerson, her close friend and mentor.
DANIEL BANIN A self-taught artist whose urban landscapes evoke the psychological weight of solitude within the
contemporary city.
