Shaun Carey

Shaun’s work derives from sketchbook practice, drawing as well as painting from the environment. A particular favorite subject being figures and landscape. The studio painting can initially derive from these studies but with room to evolve so that the marks themselves can suggest new directions. Collage and mixed media also play a key role in liberating form and colour and allowing imagination and chance to play a key role As well as his own practice Shaun is an art tutor, teaching a variety drawing and painting classes.

Studied at The Royal Academy. Exhibited at several RA Summer Exhibitions as well as The New English Art Club and with The Watercolour Society. One man show at The Royal Academy Café. Various one man exhibitions.
