ANNE ZIELER

Working primarily on the wheel with stoneware and porcelain, Anne throws individually crafted sculptural vessels characterised by rounded volumes, narrow bases and vibrant glaze transitions. By incorporating wood ash into her glazes, she develops rich textures and subtle tonal variations.

Her ceramic journey began in Ecuador, where the discovery of pre-Columbian ceramic traditions sparked her interest in working with clay. She later trained extensively in Asia, including a four-year apprenticeship with Master Yukiharu Furuno in Japan and several years of studio practice in Singapore.

Her work reflects a long-standing engagement with Asian art and ceramics, developed through years of living and working in the region, with its vivid local colours continuing to influence her palette.
