Lesley Dabson

Lesley paints exclusively in oil. She enjoys painting coastal marine scenes, intimate townscapes and loves painting along the banks of the Thames. Lesley works both en plein air and in her studio. Most of her small work is alla prima, larger studio paintings are developed over a few days. Composition is very important for her, and she spends time developing the layout before starting to paint. 

Lesley is a regular attendee at life drawing with the Hesketh Hubbard Society, meeting weekly at The Mall Galleries. She works quickly in charcoal on poses created by the professional life models. Drawing is an essential part of her art practice.
